Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess. She met a handsome prince, got married & lived happily ever after. Well…something like that…
Hello! First time blogger here!:) Taking on this new adventure full steam ahead all while my 2.5 yr old watches yet another episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & the 9 month old takes her (usually very short) morning nap. I decided to start blogging to share my experiences as a retired princess into the world of being a wife & mother, which is usually the farthest thing from a perfect fairytale, yet it is a dream come true, my dream come true. After working as a true real life princess I really did fall in love & marry a prince & now we have 2 beautiful children.
What I want to share with all of you are my adventures as a wife & mom and my love of planning. Planning parties, play dates, meals, house projects, games/activities for the kiddos, etc…if it needs a plan I want to plan it & share it!
So for this first one I’ll share a quick glimpse into my hubby’s recent birthday. He said he didn’t want a party (which is extremely hard to understand for the woman who wants any excuse to throw a party/gathering)! So I listened & kept things simple this year. Instead of doing a party I spent more time on thinking outside the box for his gifts. He is a simple guy who will go out & buy what he needs when he needs it. So it makes gift buying tricky. This year I picked a theme; cooking. The man loves to cook & what wife doesn’t love a man in the kitchen?!?
A good friend had told me about Blueapron.com so I did some research & thought this would be a perfect gift for my man. A gourmet food service that delivers farm fresh food & recipes to your door for 3 delicious meals in a week. All you have to do is cook! Along with the Blue Apron subscription I found a local cooking school that offers date night cooking classes. For those of you in SoCal its called Tspoons. They have different nights with different themes & you can pick what works for you (I’ll blog later to let you know how it goes). Needless to say, he loved the gifts. Not only do we get a much needed date night out, but we are doing something fun together that we both love to do!
Thought I would throw in a pic of the awesome cake my 2.5 yr old helped me make…it was super fun to do together & dad was very impressed!:) All you have to do is grab a cake (homemade, box or premade are all fine), a bag of Kit Kats, a bag of M&M’s & voila you have a very special cake!
