Legoland

Legoland Hotel Review

“You will never look back on life and think ‘I spent too much time with my kids.'”

For years now I have had friends tell us how amazing the Legoland Hotel is to stay for a night. To be honest, I thought they might be exaggerating because we have been to some pretty awesome family friendly hotels. But I am here to say everything they had told me was the truth. In fact, I decided they should change the name of their hotel to… Legoland Hotel: Where a Kid Can Be a Kid. The creators of this hotel were so thoughtful about every single detail and they were able to do it all from a child’s perspective.

As soon as you drive up you know you will be in for loads of fun. The bright colors of the hotel and structure make it look like it is actually made out of Lego’s.

The Lobby at the Legoland Hotel

While checking in there is a large Lego pit for kids to jump right in and start building their Lego creations. We were immediately transported into a larger than life dream play room.

If you follow the Lego brick path it will lead you to a large pirate ship and castle area that is chalk full of fun things to keep the littles preoccupied. There are of course Lego tables, a chalk wall, a steering wheel to navigate the pirate ship and little passageways for the kids to explore.

Activities at the Legoland Hotel

Once checked in you are given a scavenger hunt, as soon as you find all the clues you can then go to your room to use the code to unlock a treasure box which has a surprise for the kids. Don’t forget that on your way to your room you must ride in the coolest elevator’s ever! Spoiler Alert: Once the doors to the elevator close the disco ball turns on and you are transported to a dance party with great music. This might have been my favorite thing ever!! I don’t know why no one has ever done this before, what a super fun idea!

There were lots of activities throughout the day and evening that made for fun adventures. There was super hero training, a Lego building contest, a dance party and even a movie on the pool deck. Our littles were pretty tuckered after all the fun, and let’s face it so were the adults, so we headed to bed a little early.

Rooms at the Legoland Hotel

Once in our room we had a blast checking out the bunk beds in the kids area, which also included their own tv. The bathroom separated the kids area from our bed, which was nice to feel like we had some privacy.

The kids loved opening up the treasure box and finding their very own travel size set of Legos that they got to take home. There were also additional Lego’s in the room for the kids to play with while we were there. They also had a welcome area with bottled water, coffee, juice and hot chocolate for free (which most places charge you). Its the little things that go a long way.

We were on the third level so we had a nice view of the pool and even in the distance you could see the ocean as well.

Next we headed to the pool. I loved that it was shallow for majority of the pool, even the deep end was only up to 5ft. There was music playing, games the kids could play and of course floating Lego blocks. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas as well as a few cabana’s if you wanted to rent one.

Food at Legoland Hotel

After all the swimming we got hungry! So we headed to one of the restaurant inside the hotel called Skyline Cafe. I was super impressed with how fast we got our food after ordering, a huge bonus with little kids, and it was all really tasty too. I highly recommend the flat bread pizza for the kids (or adults) and the ahi tuna appetizer for the adults, all really great food.

The breakfast at Bricks restaurant was included in the price of our room and was a definite hit with the kids. There was even a super cute buffet area that was shorter just for them with all of their favorite foods; chocolate chip pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit and even smoothies. The adults had an omelet station, oatmeal bar, biscuits and gravy and lots of other options. They also had a balloon artist walking around making an assortment of animals for all the kids. My only tip for this restaurant is to have one parent stand in the line while the other takes the kids to play for a few minutes.

If you stayed at the hotel you were also given a special button that allowed you early access to the park before it opened to the general public. So as soon as we were done with breakfast we headed out on our next adventure to Legoland. A full blog post of the park will be coming very soon, so stayed tuned. Have you ever visited Legoland? Or stayed at the hotel?

It’s not wrong at all! I say as long as they are old enough to play with Lego’s instead of wanting to eat them you should go!;)
