Family Night at Disney on Ice

“Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age and dreams are forever.” -Walt Disney

We had family night at Disney on Ice: Worlds of Enchantment just recently and we were completely mesmerized. My husband and I had never seen any kind of ice skating show, so it was really special for us to share this experience with our children for the first time. We were pretty blown away by the entire show. The sets, props, lighting, costumes, story line, and of course the ice skating. From start to finish the entire show had all four of us in awe. It was so fun to sing along with all of our favorite songs and see our most beloved characters.Family Night at Disney on Ice

The show started with the master of ceremonies; Mickey Mouse himself. He brought out his friends; Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto to help introduce the rest of the story lines. Toy Story was up first and boy did it come out with a bang. There were green army men zip lining onto the ice, larger than life children playing with the toys and of course super fun moments, especially between Barbie and Ken.Family Night at Disney on Ice

The second story to skate it’s way onto the ice was The Little Mermaid. We felt like we were transported under the sea. Of course Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, Ursula and Eric all made appearances and sang our favorite tunes.Family Night at Disney on Ice

After a short intermission the show came revving back into action with the characters from Cars. This was so fun to see Lighting McQueen and Mater race around the ice as well as some awesome special effects.Family Night at Disney on Ice

Then to top off the night they saved the best for last with Frozen. The town of Arendelle quickly filled the scene and we were enthralled with Anna and Elsa once again as they told their story. I don’t know about you but that ending scene where Anna gives her own life for her sister, gets me every time! And the way they made the costumes turn to ice was just incredible.Family Night at Disney on Ice

Overall, we loved the show. The only thing that was hard for us was that it was a bit past the kiddos bed time. Next time we go I will try to find a matinee showing if possible. But I highly recommend this to families of all ages, make sure to find out where it is headed next.

Looks like fun! I’m still skeptical that my 2 year old would sit through something like this, but this is definitely the kind of show we want to start her off with.

Our 2 year old did pretty good, but I think next time we will try for an earlier show since it was past her bedtime.

How fun is this! I need to go to this, I’m glad to hear that your kids stayed still and watched the entire thing! 🙂
